Best. (Delayed.) Birthday. Ever.
The title pretty much says it all.
The concert: Awesome. The fans: Awesome*. The Bloody Crumpets: Awesome. Emilie Autumn herself: Awesome, and totally adorable, funny, and talented. I wish I could share it all with you guys; but (of course) my camera decided to die right before the show started (I swear I had just changed the batteries too), and my brother's cell phone kept taking blurry-ass photos. (*Minus the guy who kept shouting at the end of every song.)
Full disclosure: This was my first concert ever. That said, it's going to take something special to top it. I've been trying to figure out how to describe the madness of an Emilie Autumn concert. (This is where having my camera would've helped. Ah well...there's always YouTube.) The best way, I guess, is it's like a throwback to the vaudeville shows, where there's music, comedic acts, tricks, and all around entertainment.
The front row was sprayed with tea and cookies. We played The Rat Game. I had an Emilie Autumn endorsed (and by "endorsed" I mean licked) muffin bounce off my arm. Watching EA play the violin live was electrifying...pun not intended. The entire audience fell silent as she shredded. (And yes, EA, the electric violin is the new guitar.) I totally get why some people compare concerts to religious experiences. Rock and roll can be my religion any day. Hearing the entire room sing "My Fairweather Friend" sent chills down my spine. "Bohemian Rhapsody" with all the Crumpets is a close second.
The best part, though, was seeing Emilie Autumn pour her heart and soul into every song. She even slipped on tea at the end, but didn't miss a beat. EA is now a go-to concert for me. And since it's the end of her Opheliac Era, I cannot wait to see what she does next.
But OMG, my legs were killing me after standing for 5 hours straight. I literally limped down Clark Street. Luckily I was able to climb out of bed this morning.

I did not realize this was your first concert ever. Wow, dude. That's even more extra-special.
The first rock show I went to was The Goo Goo Dolls, I think. They were on tour with Fastball and Sugar Ray, and our show was in the middle of hurricane season, and we had season way at the back of the arena out on the lawn, and got completely soaking wet. It was awesome.

We *seats* way in the back. Not season. (Where'd that come from?)
Aww, don't feel bad. It's because you wrote "season" a few words ago, and "seats" is kinda like "season." I write words wrong all the time. (I once had "annotated" throughout a manuscript when I actually wanted "anointed." *facepalm*)
