HOWEVER TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!

1. Molly Graham has been cast. I've heard nothing but good things about Venus in Fur and Hugh and Nina's chemistry together. (The play apparently was, uh, VERY steamy and sexy.) It bums me out, then, that we're getting dropped into their relationship and they couldn't have Molly appear earlier in the season pre-marriage.

2. Season 3 Trailer (Spoilers obviously; and since I don't how spoiled one of us Fannibals wants to be, I'll avoid talking about it openly other than saying BEDELIA, YOU IN DANGER, GIRL!)

3--AND MOST FUCKING IMPORTANTLY--. WE HAVE OUR REBA! I am here for it. I loved Rutina in the first two seasons of True Blood. (I only watched the first two; but I heard they did her/Tara dirty by the end. Hopefully history won't repeat itself here.) I loved that Fuller and Co. went outside of what was expected. And while I agree with [livejournal.com profile] gothrockrulz that Emily Watson is my benchmark for Reba, I think Rutina will be great. Now tell me how many episodes Rutina/Reba is going to be in KTHNX.

Oooo, this is going to be so exciting! Glad to know that there's past chemistry with the actress they have brought on board for Molly. Haven't seen True Blood, so I have no idea if I'll like Rutina, but I am open. If they write Reba right (try saying that five times fast!), I think there's a good chance I'll adore Rutina.

Kinda annoyed that the video for the teaser trailer was removed. At least I caught a spoiler-y GIF of Bedelia on Tumblr.

Rutina played a "strong-willed" person on True Blood; so hopefully she'll be able to channel that into Reba. It's really going to come down to how the writers write Reba that will, in the end, determine my opinion of how good of a "Reba" she is, tbh.

I changed the video link so it should (hopefully) be up now. (That's weird that it got taken down, as I linked specifically to the producers' YouTube account.)

Yay, a link that works! I shrieked a little, but mostly I'm thinking, wait, what? Wait, what? Now I'm very impatient to find out how many of the scenes were in real life places, and how many featured Hannibal's or Will's mind palaces. Gosh, this show.

YAAAAY!

You have no idea how much I'm hoping that
Will telling Hannibal he forgives him is part of Hannibal's mind palace because uggghhh I cannot be on-board with Will forgiving Hannibal for the Red Dinner Party and everything else Hannibal has done. However, knowing the show is built around Will/Hannibal, I doubt it and Will really does forgive Hannibal. Grrrrrrrr

I also think the woman holding the shot-gun at Will is Margot and the creepy gardens might be on the Vergers estate. . .? But everything re: Hannibal and Bedelia has to be real world stuff. BEDELIA, YOU IN DANGER, GIRL.

ETA: MOTHERFUCKING SPOILER-TAG FUCKING WITH MY FORMAT. I may just forgo using them all together.

Even with the show being Will/Hannibal to the core, I cannot imagine any of the writers going with Will forgiving Hannibal. Not after everything that happened with all his victims, Beverly in particular, and Will's own gaslighting, and the night of the dinner gone terribly wrong. Whatever mixed emotions Will goes through, forgiveness can't be one of them. Just, no. If it does . . . I really don't know how I'll deal with that.

If you want to forgo and just leave spoiler warnings, I'm cool with that. :)

IF the writers go with 100% that Will forgive Hannibal, then, man, I don't know; it starts to verge into Hannibal being a Gary Stu* for me. I don't want to live in a world where Will is able to give Hannibal a pass for everything.

Fuller/the show is very good with showing us just enough to whet our appetites, but what we think is about to happen, doesn't happen. That's why I'm hoping we're supposed to think "yeah, Will truly does forgive Hannibal" and it's really "LOL no Will's coming to get Hannibal and GET HIM GOOD."

*I know that's not a correct definition of "Gary Stu" but I cannot come up with another word to describe Hannibal and why/how the writers let him get away with things and treat it like "Poor, Hannibal, he was put into a position where he just HAD to slaughter all his friends." Screw that noise.

Yes, please! I will be so disappointed in Will if he forgives Hannibal, like some needy thing without a mind of its own that just wants to go be to being friends or something.

With regard to Hannibal and Gary Stu-ness, I keep forgetting there are people that actually sympathize and root for Hannibal. That's just completely inconceivable to me. There's nothing forgivable about what he does. Just, no.

I find/found Hannibal entertaining to watch in the first season; even after he slammed Alana's head into a wall and was gaslighting Will. It was a "OH SHIT, what's he going to do next?" type of entertainment. And then in S2 it got. . .stale. Like, "Okay I GET IT: Hannibal is Satan and can do all these things and royally screws with people and he's just THE WORST.'

(Anyone who sympathizes with Hannibal and the Sad Cannibal needs a kick in the pants.)

That's why I hoped we could get a whole season devoted to Dolarhyde who is dangerous like Hannibal, but also different, and it would've been nice to see Fuller and Co. develop another serial killer and add multiple layers and nuances to him over 13-episodes. But. . .nope.

I hadn't expected that many episodes with Dolarhyde, but now you're making me really wish it would happen. Like, they could do so much with that, especially with the whole "it's my becoming" theme. (Confession: whenever I get frustrated with the slow progression of things in my life, a little voice in my head whispers, "But it's my becoming." And then I'm inspired for 1.4 seconds, before my memory places the origin of the quote.)

lol just don't go saying that out loud around; people may get the wrong ideas. And don't gobble down an entire painting, either!

I won't; internal monologue all the way. And nope, I like looking at classic art much better than consuming it. :)
